QUILLED MINIATURE FAIRY HOUSE

I have always been amazed by the tiny version of everyday objects. With quilling, you can create your own tiny world of 3d minis. I love miniatures and enjoy crafting them. Today's project is a quilled miniature fairy house. I have used 5mm & 3mm quilling strips in light yellow, royal blue, violet & moss green colours, some die cut leaves and acetate for the window. I first started creating the house and for this i made ten rings with 5mm light yellow strips and pasted them one above another. For the base of the house, i made one big tight coil using 3mm light yellow strips. Using two 5mm violet strips, i created a tight coil and gave it a leaf shape and made several of these and adhered them on the top for the roof. Added blue and yellow fringe flowers on the roof and violet roses on the door alongwith some die cut leaves. For tendrils on the roof and the window, i made spirals using needle tool with moss green strips and for the stairs of the fairy house, i made three tight coils in different sizes and adhered them one above another in front of the door.

Hope you all will like my project.

VINTAGE SHABBY CHIC QUILLED TWISTED EASEL SHAKER CARD

Hey guys, i hope you all are doing great. Today, i have a very interesting project to share with you. Its a vintage shabby chic quilled card with a twisted easel and shaker element to it.

The whole project is made using only four colours i.e. gold, silver, black and white to give it a vintage look.

For the base, i took a 34 cm by 17 cm white cardstock, first scored it in the centre on the long side to make a card that opens upwards & then again scored it diagonally from left side on the upper layer of the base & then took a black & grey pattern paper of size 16 cm by 16 cm which i distressed using tim holtz paper distresser and adhered it only on the left side of the diagonal scored part to form a twisted easel card.

Now, i took a 15 cm by 15 cm white cardstock & distressed it with paper distresser & pasted it to the pattern paper.

After this, i took a 14.5 cm by 14.5 cm black cardstock & adhered golden quilling strips to it in a vertical manner leaving some space between every two strips & again distressed the edges.

I punched out some borders of sizes 14.5 cm in length from black & white cardstock using martha stewart punch. I took half of the black border & white border i.e. 7.25 cm each & adhered it to the top & also at the bottom between the white cardstock & black with gold strips cardstock.
Also added some white lace pieces on the right & left edges for that shabby look.

For the shaker part, i have used spellbinders die frame and i created the lattice pattern inside the frame using silver quilling strips & then added acetate. Also, added gold & silver strips on the four corners of the top frame and then for the shaker element i added sequins & beads in gold, silver & black colour. For the background, i have used white & black pattern paper.

Then, pasted two die cut pieces on the right & bottom side of the black with gold strips cardstock.

With golden, silver, black & white quilling strips, i made some tight coils, scrolls, flowers & leaves & adhered them.

I have also used die cut leaves. Added that shabby white flower on the top right & some white half cut pearls and sequins.

For inside of the card, i first pasted black & white pattern paper & then adhered border punch cut outs from black & grey pattern paper using martha stewart punch & die cut using spellbinders die along with a sentiment in the centre.

Hope you all will like my project..

Nothing else is better than sharing your first blog post related to your motherland. I am proud to be an Indian.

So, today i am sharing this indian map quilled box which i have made using 5mm quilling strips in orange, white, blue and green colour. Its quite large in size around 9.5 inches by 9.5 inches and 576 orange coils, 1105 white coils and 488 green coils were used in making this. All these coils were made using half a strip. Besides these, i have used 11 blue strips for the "Ashoka Chakra" in the centre.
